![]() It would lead to dwarves crying on nobles all day because they miss their families that aren't in the fort or something, which greatly disrupted everyone's workflow, as they wouldn't work or socialize or pray, and any nobles working would need to stop and go into their office to Attend Meeting every couple minutes. This caused a ton of trauma in my dwarves that led to spiraling unhappiness that would not heal until i moved the bones out of the area. Well, unfortunately I lost the fort to corruption, so I'm going off of memory here, but not too many were battle hardened, and pretty much all of them were forced to "interact with corpses because I had a huge bone and skull stockpile in my main entryway, which in Dwarf Fortress terms counted as seeing one corpse per bone. ![]() Imo the long-term stress system could work for major mental breakdowns, but minor ones should be much more frequent. I don't know if you are experiencing the same thing, maybe it's just my fort and all my dwarves are (were) super-stress resistant for some reasons. I'm talking constant harrasment from ghosts, no alcohol, sleeping on the dirt, unmet needs for years. It's only now that things have gone total shit that stress is starting to become a little more prevalent. I'm not sure how it is related to stress gain, but after that, despite 90% of my dwarves being miserable, enduring the decay of a relative or whatever, I had maybe one or two actually stressed dwarves in the years that followed. Quickly after the first wave of death, almost all of my dwarves "didn't care about anything anymore". I have the feeling you can ignore it totally and it won't have a major impact on your fort. I hadn't played the game seriously in a while, especially the previous version (47.05) which was supposed to rework stress a bit.Ĭurrently having a blast on the Steam version, but i gotta say i'm kinda disappointed which moral and stress right now. ![]() Kitfox Discord #modding-discussion channelīronzemurder and Oilfurnace (illustrated) A three step guide:ĭownload DF Classic or install the premium version from Steam or Itch.ioįollow the quickstart guide on the wiki, or see other learning resources (below)Īsk any questions in the ☼Bi-weekly DF Questions Thread☼ - it's always active See the reasons for our rules here, and please report any problems!ĭF can be intimidating, but we're dedicated to helping new players.
